Appalachian Area Spring Rally

April 15, 2012

Maggie and I got the chance to attend the Appalachian Spring Rally at Wytheville Community College on Friday, April the 13th. Over 500 Appalachian Area members were in attendance! The Spring Rally is one of the major highlights of the year for the area. The Spring Rally is basically a miniature version of State Convention because it allows Appalachian area members to participate in CDE events throughout the day! Even as a chapter member spring rally has always been one of my favorite conferences! It gives the opportunity for members from different chapters to interact and have fun together. I had a ton of fun hanging out with the area officers and talking with them! After lunch the talent competition was held in the auditorium. This year there was a lot of performances- singing, instrumentalists, and even dancing. The clogging performance took first place! After talent was the installation of the new area officers, I got the opportunity to install the upcoming year’s treasurer.  At the end of the day the results of the CDEs were revealed. It is always wonderful to see hard work receive some recognition. It was a blast to socialize with different members and advisors, hang out with the area officer team, and see the results of the CDEs!
